AIS message type
AIS message type 11: UTC and date response
Reply to a type 10 inquiry, laid out like a base station report. What type 11 carries, who sends it, how often, and how to read it.
What type 11 is
Type 11 has the layout of type 4 but is sent by a mobile station in answer to a type 10. It reports the replying station's UTC date and time and its position.
How to read it
Because it shares the type 4 layout, a decoder that handles type 4 handles type 11 for free. It does not make the sender a base station.
Field layout
Bit offsets are counted from zero at the first bit of the decoded payload. Type 11 uses the same layout as type 4.
